Our weekly market is held every Wednesday afternoon from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm
Our monthly market happens on the first Sunday of every month from 9 am to 1 pm.

In wet, muddy conditions the monthly Sunday market moves across the road to the car park adjacent to Victory Park.

If you’re able, we encourage you to ride, walk or take public transport to our lovely markets.

Two e-car charging stations are available in the supermarket car park opposite the Western Reserve and adjacent to Victory Park.
Free street parking is available near all market locations and throughout Castlemaine. On market day parking can be harder to find, so consider parking further away and walking in, where possible.
Designated disabled parking spaces are available near all our market locations.
There are places to secure bikes and e-bikes near all our market locations and throughout Castlemaine.
Yes,the Castlemaine Farmers Market is an all-weather market. You’ll find us here every Wednesday and the first Sunday of every month rain, hail, shine — or anything in between.

On warm days enjoy the large shade trees you’ll find dotted around all our market locations.

ATMs
The monthly Sunday market: a Bendigo Bank ATM is located in the supermarket complex adjacent to Victory Park, across the road from the Western Reserve.

The weekly Wednesday market: An NAB ATM can be found on the corner of Barkley St and Forest St, approximately 450 meters from Camp Reserve.
Parking
Free street parking is available near both all market locations and throughout Castlemaine. On market day parking can be harder to find, so consider parking further away and walking in, if you can.

Most stalls are set up with card readers for EFTPOS and credit card payments. It’s a good idea to bring some cash as well; a small number of stalls may not have card facilities. ATMs can be found within a short walk from all market locations.
- BYO shopping bags or baskets — we’re a plastic bag free market!
- Bank cards, consider bringing some cash, too.
- Wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.
Extras you might like to bring:
- Reusable coffee cups and takeaway food containers
- A picnic rug or beach chairs
- An umbrella for wet days
- Drinking water

The Castlemaine Farmers Market is committed to being a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone in the community.
As our markets are held outdoors the ground is naturally slightly uneven but all market locations can be accessed without climbing steps or stairs, and the grounds they are held on are not steep or overly sloped.
Disabled parking and disabled toilets are available within a few hundred meters of all of our market locations.
The SES has been part of the Castlemaine Farmers Market since the very beginning. And you’ll see members of the SES at the entrance of every Sunday Monthly market.

We’re proud to say that the generosity of our marketgoers has helped the SES raise tens of thousands of dollars over the years – money that goes right back into supporting our community.
Our Community Fundraising Stall is a star of the Sunday Market Hot Food stalls. With most ingredients sourced from within the market, you can expect to tuck into some impressive fare; premium free-range sausages, artisan bread rolls and hearty vegan options. No soggy democracy sausages here! Supporting our local schools and not-for-profits is tasty work.
We are a plastic bag free market. Please remember to pack your reusable shopping bags and baskets on market day!
Keep cups and reusable takeaway containers are welcome too.
You’ll be glad to know that we ask all our stallholders to make the most environmentally responsible packaging choices they can while ensuring they comply with food safety standards.
