Victorian Farmers Market Association Accreditation

The Castlemaine Farmers Market is passionate about connecting food lovers to great produce and supporting local farmers. That’s why we’re accredited with the Victorian Farmers Market Association (VFMA).

Our accreditation means we’ve agreed to meet certain standards. So when you come to one of our markets you get the genuine article — truly local food, grown in season and sold directly by the people who grew it.

In fact, from time to time the VFMA audit all their markets; checking that things are labelled correctly and everything is up to scratch.

When you buy directly from a farmer, you can trust that you’re getting food that is truly fresh and full of goodness and has only travelled a short way. Plus you’re strengthening the local food system and helping the local economy flourish — all while doing the shopping!
